Sahrawi Festival

To mark the 40th anniversary of the Holidays in Peace programme, Catalonia Square will become a meeting place where visitors can discover and enjoy Sahrawi culture through a variety of activities for all ages. The traditional Sahrawi haima (tent) will welcome visitors with a tea tasting and henna tattoos, two expressions of the hospitality and traditions of the Sahrawi people. There will also be workshops to create personalised wallets and bookmarks featuring participants' names written in Hassaniya. The event will conclude with a participatory percussion workshop, open to people of all ages.
