Frank Blackfield Band
Holding both French and American nationality, Frank returned to France after spending 23 years in the United States, where he worked as a folk and country blues musician. Back in France, he formed a band and performed at several festivals (Mirande, Marciac), becoming a finalist in “Blues sur Seine,” a national blues competition near Paris.
He also opened for Willy Deville in Corsica in 2003. Eager to broaden his horizons and looking for a different atmosphere, he moved to Donostia / San Sebastián. Luck gave Frank Blackfeld a very positive boost. While performing in San Sebastián, bassist Fernando Neira, who had come to hear him at Altxerri, told him he would like to play with him. Soon afterward, guitarist Jon Aira and drummer Gus González joined the project.
Frank is currently forming a new band with Nagore Michelena on bass and Nagore Etxabe on drums. Together with Jorge, they recorded two albums at MECCA Studio: Still Free ’n Rockin’ and Keep on Going.
